Ryan works with innovative leaders in the automotive and mechanical industries to develop, procure, and manage their patent rights. Ryan applies an entrepreneurial mindset that syncs with his clients’ business goals and looks for creative, cost-effective strategies that drive their business forward.

As a patent attorney with more than 25 years of experience, Ryan’s practice involves conducting freedom to practice, infringement, and invalidity investigations, as well as preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Ryan also argues cases before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board.

Before becoming a patent attorney, Ryan worked as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, examining patent applications in the technical field of automotive transmissions, transmission controls, machine elements, and mechanisms.

When he is not in the office, Ryan is either cheering on the Michigan State Spartans or planning his next travel adventure.
