Jeff has successfully obtained more than 1,000 patents in the U.S. and abroad for a wide range of clients over the past twenty years. His success rests in part on his ability to form trusted, collaborative relationships with his clients and develop comprehensive strategies to maximize the value of their IP portfolios. The constant motion of Jeff’s practice also keeps him up to speed with the latest developments and techniques for protecting IP rights and moving patent and trademark applications through to issuance.

In addition to his solid U.S. expertise, Jeff focuses on delivering worldwide IP protection strategies and management to his diverse clientele, which includes universities, small start-ups, and corporations. He is well versed in a broad range of IP related disciplines, including obtaining, enforcing, and licensing patents, trademarks, and copyrights on a global scale. He also possesses extensive experience in preparing legal opinions relating to patentability, patent validity, and freedom-to-practice, and is particularly mindful of being a responsive and budget-conscious member of the client’s team.

Prior to the practice of law, Jeff worked as a mechanical design engineer for an overseas-based camera company responsible for the design and manufacture of name-brand 35mm cameras.

Jeff also has a passion for flying and is the proud co-founder of a network of more than 40,000 pilots, owners, operators, and mechanics. He is a Certified Flight Instructor – Airplanes (CFI) and a Certified Flight Instructor – Instruments (CFII).

Civic & Charitable

Jeff is also a commercially-certified, instrument-rated pilot who proudly volunteers free air transportation to wounded warriors, veterans and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes as part of Veteran Airlift Command — a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.
