Reston patent attorney Blair Hoyt is scheduled to be a presenter at this year’s World Intellectual Property Forum taking place January 16 through 18 in Dubai, UAE. With a truly global list of speakers and attendees, the conference’s leaders have selected the theme of “Navigating the IP Compass” for the 2018 conference.

Hoyt’s presentation will take place January 17 at 11:30 am. The title for his presentation is “Extraterritorial Considerations of U.S. Patent Law,” which will include an examination of various U.S. infringement statutes and their application to activities performed outside of the U.S.

Hoyt is a Principal in the firm’s Reston office. His experience includes more than a decade of prosecuting patents for electrical- and computer-related technologies, as well as handling international and PCT patent applications. He frequently gives lectures to global companies and clients on the changing landscape of patent law.
