Harness IP Principal Joel Samuels Named to “Up & Coming Lawyers” List
Harness IP is pleased to announce that Joel Samuels has been named to Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s “Up & Coming Lawyers” class of 2019. He is an intellectual property attorney and Principal in the firm’s St. Louis, Missouri office.
“What a great honor for Joel,” said Harness IP Principal Bryan Wheelock. “We are proud to have him on our team, sharing his expertise and zeal for intellectual property law.”
Samuels currently divides his practice between litigation and brand and IP management. As a litigator, he serves his clients by offering a candid analysis of their case and the effects it could have on their brand optics before they go to trial. He works to understand his adversaries’ motivations so that he can find common ground, resolve disputes in a professional manner early, and save his clients’ time and money. As a brand and IP manager, Samuels advises his clients on protecting their brands with trademarks, using IP agreements, and growing and monetizing portfolios of patents and trademarks.
Samuels earned a J.D. from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law. He also graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University with a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science. Samuels is the current Secretary for the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section of The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL), where he has led an annual “Trademark Year in Review” presentation every year since 2016. In addition, he was recently featured in the “Best Lawyers in America” list by U.S. News – Best Lawyers® for litigation – intellectual property, litigation – patent and trademark law.
To qualify for the award, attorneys must be 40 years old or younger and in the first 10 years of their legal careers. An awards luncheon will be held on October 11, 2019 for the honorees. A full list of honorees is available on the Missouri Lawyers Weekly website.
