Harness IP Names Five Attorneys as Principals, January 1, 2015
Harness IP is pleased to announce that five of its attorneys have been named as Principals of the Firm: Jason Heist, Steve Holtshouser, Blair Hoyt, Greg Meyer, and Michael Nye.
Jason Heist is located in the Troy, MI. Jason is a patent attorney focusing on patent applications in various technical arts including machine elements, chemical arts, and various electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems. Jason obtained his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a B.S. in Chemistry, Michigan State University.
Steve Holtshouser is located in the St. Louis office. He has tried more than 40 complex cases to verdict in federal court and has briefed and argued more than 35 appeals at the federal level, including an en banc argument before the Eighth Circuit. As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, Steve has a perfect record of success in first-chair jury trials and appeals. His cases have included intellectual property, public corruption, tax, international narcotics and violence, financial fraud, and corporate cases. Steve obtained his J.D. from Washington University and a B.A. in Political Science from St. Louis University.
Blair Hoyt is located in the Reston, VA office. Blair is a patent attorney with a practice consisting of preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications in the electrical and mechanical areas including semiconductor devices, telecommunication systems, data storage structures, LCD displays, medical imaging devices and laser printers. He obtained his J.D. from George Mason University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Greg Meyer is located in the St. Louis, MO office. As a patent attorney, his practice is devoted primarily to intellectual property litigation in the areas of patents, trademarks, copyrights, rights of publicity, trade secrets and unfair competition. His litigation experience encompasses all aspects of federal patent litigation, from the development of case strategies through the appeals process, in district and appellate courts throughout the United States. Greg obtained his J.D. and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Saint Louis University.
Michael Nye is located in the Troy, MI office. Michael is a patent attorney focused on patents and trade secrets in electrical- and computer-related technologies. He advises clients on strategies to achieve business objectives by protecting and developing their intellectual property. In executing these strategies, he prepares and prosecutes patent applications, reviews competitive landscapes for potential infringers and opportunities for future patent protection, performs due diligence reviews of intellectual property portfolios, and advises on freedom-to-operate for new product offerings and features. Michael obtained his J.D. from Michigan State University and a M.S and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Michigan.
