Harness IP, one of the country’s largest and most respected intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce that Glenn Forbis has been named to Managing IP’s shortlist for its “Outstanding Litigator: Michigan” award. The awards ceremony will take place March 15 in New York City.
Forbis is a Principal in the firm’s Troy, Michigan, headquarters. A patent attorney and litigator, he has served as lead counsel in more than 150 cases involving patents or trademarks, as well as several proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board within the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has successfully defended clients against patent infringement claims in excess of $75 million, while twice earning recoveries of more than $30 million for clients on the Plaintiff side.
Recently, Forbis was lead trial counsel for the Plaintiff in Dassault Systemes, SA v. Childress in a jury trial in the Eastern District of Michigan. Forbis secured a winning verdict of copyright infringement and a damage award consisting of lost licensing revenue and a complete disgorgement of the Defendant’s profits. Prior to trial, Forbis secured dismissals of antitrust and unfair competition counterclaims on summary judgment.
The shortlists for the Managing IP Awards are based on surveys and information received as part of the publication’s annual IP STARS Awards process. According to Managing IP’s website, firms are asked to both self-nominate and nominate competitors in a series of surveys before the publication conducts its own independent research. Award ceremonies this year will be divided by region into Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific events. View the shortlist for Managing IP Americas Awards online.
