Harness IP patent attorney Ryan Jenlink was featured in a Law360 article discussing his return to the firm’s Dallas office as well as his career in patent law.

Jenlink was previously with Harness IP for about 18 months. He has now rejoined the firm as a Principal. His experience includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the oil and gas, chemical, electrical, and medical device fields. He also applies his background in chemistry and genetics to counsel clients in the genetic engineering and gene therapy fields.

Jenlink cited the firm’s expertise and understanding of IP law and the market as the main force that drew him back to the firm. “Harness IP has a very good understanding of what it takes to make an IP practice successful,” he said.

He primarily works with small- to medium-sized businesses, but has counseled solo inventors, as well. He currently provides IP counsel to a Metro Dallas surgeon who started his own medical device company in 2016 after inventing an innovative nasal split technology. “When you understand what it does, how it has the opportunity to help people and improve lives, it’s nice to think you have a hand in that type of thing,” Jenlink said.

Firm Principal Gerald Welch was also quoted in the article. “Ryan has a terrific mind for patent law and has really developed a strong perspective on our clients’ business needs,” he said.

Jenlink is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law and holds dual degrees in cellular and molecular biology and plant and soil science – biotechnology from Oklahoma State University.
