Harness IP Principal Jennifer Woodside Wojtala Selected as a Member of Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2019 Women in the Law
Jennifer Woodside Wojtala, a Principal at Harness IP’s Metro Detroit office, has been selected as a member of Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2019 Women in the Law. The distinction, awarded annually to a limited number of attorneys statewide, recognizes high-achieving women lawyers who have made a meaningful impact to the legal community and their communities at large. Wojtala will be honored at a luncheon hosted by Michigan Lawyers Weekly at the Detroit Marriott in Troy on September 5th.
“There are so many talented and accomplished attorneys and judges in this year’s Women in the Law honoree list,” said Wojtala. “It is truly an honor to be among such great company.”
Wojtala counsels clients on various intellectual property matters. Her practice includes patent preparation and prosecution; opinion work, including patentability, freedom-to-market, validity searches and opinions; and patent reexaminations. Wojtala’s legal practice also involves intellectual property litigation, as well as merger and acquisition due diligence activities. Her technical areas of expertise are in the chemical, nanotechnology and material arts.
Outside of the office, Wojtala has volunteered with local entrepreneur organizations and led informative presentations about protecting innovations. She has also helped to organize a school supplies drive for underprivileged children, has volunteered for the Lighthouse of Oakland County Holiday Program, and she participates every year in the annual Detroit Goodfellows Doll campaign, which gives creative outfits and personas to toy dolls that are donated as Christmas presents to young girls in Detroit.
Wojtala earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Wayne State University and holds a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
